Position:              Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location:             Southgate

Salary:                  up to circa £35k Basic + Bonus (up to 20%) + Company Car/ Car Allowance + Benefits Package

They have a large pipeline of work with several new projects due to start in the next few months. The company is looking to recruit a driven Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on a large new build residential project.

The Position

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be working within the 10 strong commercial department assisting with the management of all commercial activities onsite, working closely with the design & construction team to monitor build costs against the programme. This includes reporting any budget variances, prelim strategies and risks to the Senior Surveyor in order to monitor against the programme completion dates and overall construction budget.

The candidate

It is essential that the successful candidate;

  • Intelligent, driven to succeed and keen to learn
  • Previous experience within the residential sector with a main contractor or developer
  • Proven track record of delivery in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Experience of subcontract procurement
  • Experience in assisting in the management of subcontracts.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solid commercial acumen
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent (BSc Quantity Surveying preferred)
